Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to design a development model of teachers’competency through in-service training that can be used as a reference in designing,implementing and evaluating training activities in-service training at Public Senior HighSchool teachers. This research is a preliminary study of a research and development thatresults hypothetic model of teachers’ competency development through in-service trainingand stated 77 teachers as sample by using cluster random sampling. The data weregathered by using a set of questionnaires, interview, and check lists and then analyzed byusing percentage and then described.

Abstract

Students at the first year students accounting department of SMKN 1 Bandar Seikijanghad problems in writing English business letter. They were facing difficulties type of Englishbusiness letter. The Purpose of this research was to find out what kind of difficulties in writing theEnglish business letter faced by the first year students accounting department of SMKN 1 BandarSeikijang. The design of this research was survey. Sample of the research was 23 students at thefirst year students accounting department of SMKN 1 Bandar Seikijang. Instrument used wasquestionnaire. The questionnaire was about the students’ difficulties in writing the Englishbusiness letter. The questionnaire was analyzed by using percentage formulation. The result ofanalyzing data that the students’ response toward their difficulties in writing the English businessletter was making up negative response with 71.73%.In conclusion, the students at the first yearstudents accounting department of SMKN 1 Bandar Seikijang had trouble in studying style ofletter in English business letter.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran GroupInvestigation terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan di kelas XI IPA SMANurul Falah Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini termasuk kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini adalahpreetest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPAdi SMA Nurul Falah Pekanbaru dengan sampel sebanyak 68 siswa yang diambil denganmenggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest,posttest dan lembar observasi siswa dan guru. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji-t jika databerdistribusi normal dan varians homogen. N-gain kelas kontrol dengan kategori sedang (0,52)dan kelas eksperimen dengan kategori tinggi (0,75). Hasil uji-t N-gain terdapat perbedaansignifikan antara N-gain kelas kontrol dan N-gain kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitianini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Group Investigationterhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan di kelas XI IPA SMA Nurul FalahPekanbaru Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014.

Abstract

This study is about the use of comic in teaching a descriptive text becausemost of the students at the seventh grade of SMPN 3 Pekanbaru got some problem incomprehending the text. The main objective of this study was to find out whether thestudents taught reading a descriptive text using comic strips achieve better than thosewho do not taught reading using comic strips at the seventh grade students of SMPN3 Pekanbaru. The design of the research was experimental study. The researcher gavetry-out test to analyze validity and reliability of each item. Some test was used toanalyze the data that obtained from the pre-and post-test. They were normality test,Homogeneity test, and t-test. It was showed that the mean of experimental score washigher than the mean of control class (74.51>64.75). The test of hypothesis using ttestformula showed the value of the Asym Sig (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05. The nullhypothesis was rejected. Then, the criteria value of N-gain pre-test and post testexperimental class was middle. In conclusion, students who taught reading adescriptive text with comic strips achieved better than students who did not taughtwithout comic strips.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran ekspositoridengan menggunakan media gambar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materigerak tumbuhan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di MTs Taufiq Walhidayah Pekanbaru semestergenap pada Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasieksperimen pretest-posttest control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulanFebruari 2014 di MTs Taufiq Walhidayah Pekanbaru. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelasVIII1 dan VIII2 dengan jumlah siswa masing-masing 20 orang yang diambil dengan carateknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest, posttest danlembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalampenelitian ini berupa uji t independent 2 sample apabila data berdistribusi normal danhomogen. Rerata N-gain kelas eksperimen adalah 0,78 kategori tinggi dan pada kelaskontrol 0,21 kategori rendah. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik terdapat perbedaan yangsignifikan antara kelas kontrol dengan kelas eksperimen, dengan demikian dapatdisimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran ekspositori denganmenggunakan media gambar terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi geraktumbuhan di MTs Taufiq Walhidayah Pekanbaru Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to analyze the cognitive level used in English semester test items ofSMPN 2 Bangkinang from the seventh grade up to ninth grade. The cognitive level used in each itemswas classified measure the percentage to find the comparison referred to bloom’s taxonomy in findingthe right answer. Kind of this research was survey research which only analyzed what was in the fieldarea. In this research, the researcher collected 150 English semester test items. Each class theresearcher 50 items. The test were in form of multiple choices. Then, all of the items were classifiedbased on its classification. By classifying the items, the researcher found that there were 32 itemscategorized into remembering (Remembering/C1) with the percentage of 21,3%, there were 61 itemscategorized into understanding (Applying/C3) with the percentage of 21,3% and there were 25 itemscategorized into analyzing (Analyzing/C4) with the percentage of 16,7%. From the results of thisresearch it could be concluded that the cognitive level used in English semester test items of SMPN 2Bangkinang at seventh grade up to ninth grade were classified in the level of ”Understanding (C2)”with the percentage of 40,7% and the level of the difficulty of the test was in the middle level.
